Important Message, Dr. Freytas, 10/29

Dear Riverside Brookfield Families, Students, and Staff,

Today, Tuesday, October 29th, at approximately 11:30 AM, a student received a threatening text message from an unidentified phone number. The administration was made aware of this message and contacted the Riverside Police department. We are working collaboratively with the police department with this on-going investigation. As a precaution, there may be additional police presence on campus.

Safety and security for the learning environment is our top priority, and we do not take any situations lightly. We will continue to operate as a regular school day.

Situations like these will be topics for our upcoming Community Forum on Safety and Security on Wednesday, November 13th, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Everyone is invited!

Also, parents/guardians, we ask for your continued support in monitoring your child’s electronic devices and social media sites.

With high optimism for a fantastic year,

Dr. Freytas
