November 19, 2019
Dear Riverside Brookfield Families, Students and Staff,
Today, Tuesday, November 19th, in the late afternoon, we had a physical altercation between two students. During the altercation, one student brandished a small pocket knife. The students involved were detained immediately by security officers. Classes resumed as normal. We are currently working with the Riverside Police Department in this ongoing investigation and students will be held accountable for their actions. We believe this was an isolated incident and classes will operate as normal tomorrow.
The safety of our students and our school remains our top priority. We have a “See Something, Say Something” initiative in place and encourage students to report any suspicious behavior or activity to the administration or any adult in the building.
With high optimism for a fantastic year,
Dr. Freytas
