The following information was sent home on January 25, 2021, to students and families who had previously registered for the PSAT/NMSQT exam:
Unfortunately, the facilities at RBHS will be closed due to expected inclement weather and students will be working remotely from home. As such, we are forced to cancel the PSAT/NMSQT exam. We reached out to The College Board but they were unwilling to provide any further alternative dates for this exam administration.
Fortunately, though, there is still an alternative entry option to the National Merit Scholarship contest for all students who were initially registered for this exam. Students should view the Alternate Entry to the 2022 National Merit® Scholarship Program information and then complete the Alternate Entry Form: 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program no later than April 1, 2021. From that point, students are required to sit for an SAT exam before June 2021 and to send those scores into the National Merit Scholarship for consideration (specific details are in the links above).
All grade 11 students are already automatically registered for and will be sitting for the Illinois state-mandated SAT exam on April 13, 2021. This exam score can be used for alternate entry.
Refunds for the PSAT/NMSQT exam have been processed through the Total Registration payment system where students originally signed up for the exam.
Thank you for your understanding. Please contact Marc Helgeson ([email protected]), director of testing, with any questions.
