Today students have the opportunity to write Notes of Acknowledgement for staff. Please stop by the table at the north end of the cafe to fill out a note for any staff member. This is a great opportunity to say thank you!

Computer Science and Literature?  That's right! Douglas Downey worked with Northwestern University English and Classics professor Martin Mueller to restore millions of incomplete words in transcriptions of early English texts. The team used machine learning techniques to evaluate the contexts of the incomplete words and fill in the missing characters. As part of CS Ed week, stop by the table in the entrance before school tomorrow to see some apps developed by Girls Who Code and get a prize!

Film Club has been canceled for this week.  Listen up and look for signs for our next meeting.

The next Bulldog Book Club meeting will be this Thursday, December 9th at 8 am in the Library. We will be discussing our current reads: The Companion by Katie Alender and With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo. All are welcome, even if you haven't read the books. This will be our last meeting before winter break.

The Student Association-sponsored Coat & Blanket Drive continues this week.  We are accepting all new and gently worn coats of all sizes, blankets, and winter accessories, including hats, gloves, mittens, neck-warmers and scarves.   All donations may be dropped off in the Main Office, Student Services, Ms. Ziola's Room #215 or Ms. Koehler's Room 114.  The drive will continue through Thursday, Dec 9th.

Are you interested in auditioning for the Spring musical Chicago? Sign-ups are now posted outside the choir room. You can also scan the posters around the school for more information.

The RBHS Dance Department is sending out a call for performance artists! They will be hosting their first-ever Dance Slam on January 13th and 14th. Have a dance you'd like to perform on stage? All are welcome to submit a performance for the show by December 8th to Ms. Dall. See the Dance Slam flyers for more details, or stop by the dance studio with questions!

Attention seniors! Senior Quotes and Superlative voting for the yearbook are due by Monday, December 13th at midnight. Please check your RBHS email account for the links to vote and submit your quotes.  Contact Mrs. Marsh in room 262 with any questions.

This week, AST will be hosting a fundraiser for Bernie's Book Drive, a non-profit organization that donates gently worn and new books to children throughout Illinois.  Also, throughout the week, different teachers, faculty members, and students will be sharing their favorite childhood books on the morning and afternoon announcements. Our fundraiser will be running through December 17th. Please bring any gently worn or new books that you have. Donation boxes will be located at Door A each morning before school. Thank you for your support.
