2023 RB graduate Christian Varela's artwork has been chosen by the College Board for inclusion in the 2023 AP Art and Design Digital Exhibit! Christian is one of 50 students selected from a pool of more than 74,000 submitted portfolios. This year's exhibit features exceptional quality student artwork, representing a rich tapestry of ideas, artistic styles, materials, and processes that conceptualize and manifest these works of art and design.
Past featured students have attested to the benefits of their inclusion, including scholarships and awards, all based on their portfolios and their page within the exhibit. To date, the 2022 AP Art and Design Exhibit has garnered over 270,000 views and has become a valuable instructional resource in visual art classrooms worldwide.
Christian is currently a freshman at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and earned a scholarship to attend SAIC based on the incredible work he made for his AP Studio Art 3D portfolio in Mrs. Suzanne Zimmerman's class last year.
The AP Art and Design Digital Exhibit is scheduled for publication on December 1, 2023. Congratulations, Christian!
