CHESS TEAM

On Saturday, the RB Chess team competed at the IHSA Sectionals at Hinsdale Central High School, which was rated the toughest of the eight Sectionals this year.  The Bulldogs, who were seeded 19th out of 24 teams, played tough all four rounds and qualified for state for the 19th consecutive season!!

Senior 1st Board and Captain, David Gugliciello, the team's only four year starter, led the way with two wins and a draw in his four matches.  He had an incredible knight checkmate in the 3rd round to seal the team victory against Sandburg.  Sophomores Alex Perez and Dalton Campbell also had two big victories each to help the team earn the State Finals berth.

Congratulations Dogs and best of luck in Peoria in two weeks!
