Please join us in congratulating Sandy Czajka who has been named by the Illinois State Board of Education as a recipient of a 2025 Those Who Excel Award! For 2025, Sandy has received the Award of Meritorious Service in the Classroom Teacher Category. Those presented with the Award of Meritorious Service are experienced educators who have gone above and beyond in service to their school communities. Sandy was chosen from thousands of nominees across the state of Illinois to be recognized for her countless contributions to education and, specifically, Riverside Brookfield High School.
“Ms. Czajka is and always has been an educator for all,” Division Head for STEM Lindsay Mynaugh said. “She supports and uplifts her students and colleagues on a daily basis and is the type of teacher who not only has high expectations, but works with her students and models for her students how they can reach them. Ms. Czajka is not just a math teacher; she is an advocate for learning in any fashion. Her passion and commitment to her students and colleagues are unmatched, and it has truly been my honor to work side-by-side with her for so many years. RBHS is a better place for our students and community because of her.”
All Those Who Excel Award applications are scored by a review committee made up of ISBE staff, representatives from education organizations, and current and past awardees. All awardees are honored at an annual banquet in the spring.
